Meet our team

Our team of highly qualified and skilled clinicians are all experienced in working across a wide spectrum of psychological difficulties. Each one of us has worked in the NHS as well as privately, with patients of all ages and across a wide spectrum of ethnicities.

However, we know that each person is different, and each patient an individual. Each psychologist in our team has additional skills and areas of expertise that we have studied, or developed over the years. With these, we aim to try and offer you sessions with the psychologist who is best equipped to deal with your particular difficulties.

Together with our policy of flexibility, where we are able to offer appointments during the day, in the evenings, or on weekends, we take pride in offering a personalised and patient-focused service.

Dr Lindsey Wood

Dr Lindsey Wood is a passionate and dedicated clinical psychologist. She is experienced in working with children, adolescents, adults and families with the full range of difficulties, including anxiety, low mood and parenting. She also has specialist skills for supporting clients with difficulties related to loss and trauma, attachment and chronic physical health diagnoses.

Dr Wood initially graduated from the University of Warwick with a first class degree in psychology, followed by a masters degree with distinction in Health Psychology from Bath University. Dr Wood subsequently worked for a year with adults who had experienced a brain injury, had Multiple Sclerosis, or suffered from chronic pain. She then completed doctoral training in clinical psychology at Royal Holloway, University of London, qualifying in 2007. Dr Wood published her doctoral research on children’s experiences of being bereaved of a parent through suicide.

As part of the doctoral training, Dr Wood worked within the NHS with clients across the life span with mental health needs and physical health needs. Her final year of training consisted of two specialist placements, one working in a specialist trauma service for adults and one working at the Royal Marsden Hospital with adults who either currently had or had been treated for cancer. During training Dr Wood also worked in various charity settings, including a children’s bereavement charity. All these experiences have equipped Dr Wood to work with clients and their families of all ages.

Since qualifying as a clinical psychologist, Dr Wood has worked in both the NHS and the private sector. Within the NHS this has included working within a Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service (CAMHS), a paediatric department treating children with cancer, and a specialist team working with adopted and fostered children. Outside of the NHS, Dr Wood has worked for an adoption agency.

Dr Wood works in an integrative way, which means that she draws upon a number of different therapeutic ideas and techniques (e.g. CBT, narrative, systemic and attachment), and adapts her therapeutic style according to what seems to be the best fit for each child, young person and family she works with. Above all, Dr Wood aims to build a warm, non-judgemental and safe space to explore any difficulties and potential solutions and is passionate about working in a collaborative way.
